Smokey conditions are lingering on S.C. 31 near Robert Edge Parkway after a brush fire early Friday afternoon, according to North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.
A controlled burn off Bourne Trail extended beyond breaks causing a spot fire along side of S.C. 31, firefighters said. The fire was contained about 1:30 p.m., but authorities said the smokey conditions on the road would linger at least two hours, possibly longer.
Two lanes were blocked while firefighters were on scene. The roadway is open, but congestion is possible.
