Myrtle Beach police investigating sexual assault attempt

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a woman being approached by a man who tried to get her to have sex with him in exchange for drugs, according to a police report.

The victim told officers that about 12:45 a.m. Thursday she went to the vending machines on the lower level of the hotel she's staying at 104 N. Ocean Blvd., police said.

The victim said she told the man, who approached her and offered her drugs for sex, that she did not want any and wanted to get a drink and go back to her room, according to the report. The victim said the man insisted she leave with him and have sex with him.

The victim said she was able to get away from the man and went back to her room and called police, according to the report. The victim's age was not listed in the report and no other details were available.
