Georgetown men plead guilty in armed robbery

Two Georgetown men pleaded guilty to an armed robbery after a jury was selected Tuesday, said Erin Bailey, assistant solicitor with the 15th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Dwaine Lamark Johnson Jr. pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder. Circuit Court Judge Edward Cottingham sentenced Johnson to 15 years in prison. Isiah Greene, Johnson’s codefendant, pleaded guilty to common law robbery and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

The men were charged in connection with an armed robbery at Szechuan Palace on Highmarket Street in Georgetown on Aug. 24, 2011. Johnson shot both owners of the restaurant just before it closed and took $350 from the cash drawer.
