Myrtle Beach man’s bond set at $750,000 in fatal hit-and-run crash

Bail is set at $750,000 for a Myrtle Beach man charged in connection with the death of his passenger in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday in the city, according to authorities.

Eugeny Pavlovich Bolotov, 28, of Myrtle Beach is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $250,000 bail on a charge of hit and run with death and $500,000 bail on a charge of reckless homicide, according to jail records.

Bolotov was taken into police custody about 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of U.S. 501 and Robert Grissom Parkway and then charged, according to an arrest report. The charges stemmed from a crash that occurred about 1 a.m. in that same area that killed 26-year-old Sergey Kharlamov of Myrtle Beach.

Kharlamov was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Bolotov and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said. Bolotov was driving on U.S. 501 when he ran through the red light at Robert Grissom Parkway and his vehicle was struck on its passenger side by another vehicle.

Police said Bolotov got out of the car and ran away before they found him several hours later in the same area.
