Myrtle Beach man charged with attempted murder following fight with coworker at airbrush shop

A Myrtle Beach man was charged with attempted murder following a fight and stabbing on Ocean Boulevard, according to a police report.

John Duwane Dixon, 35, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail pending a bond hearing, according to jail records.

A 26-year-old man told officers he was working with Dixon inside The Airbrush Shop at 918 N. Ocean Blvd., at 2:15 p.m. Sunday when the men argued while working, police said. The report did not list what the argument was about.

The victim said they started to physically fight in the store and then on the sidewalk in front of the business, according to the report. Bystanders stopped the fight and separated the men.

The victim said he walked south on Ocean Boulevard away from Dixon and the business, but Dixon came after him and wanted to fight again, according to the report. The victim said Dixon swung at him and stabbed him in the shoulder and then in the stomach before running away.

Police found Dixon in the Parrot Bar and Grill and took him into custody after witnesses reported where he went after the stabbing, according to the report. The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center by EMS for treatment. His condition was not listed in the report.
