Authorities are continuing to investigate after several unrelated shootings happened this week in the Conway area.
Officers with the Conway Police Department are following leads and looking for suspects in connection with an attempted murder that sent a woman to the hospital with gunshot wounds late Wednesday night, police said.
Authorities were called about 10:50 p.m. to Creel Street and discovered a female gunshot victim, who was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center, according to a release from Sgt. Darren Alston.
Shots rang in the Conway area close to midnight the day before on Beau Street, which is within an unincorporated region. Horry County police were called to the scene about 11:58 p.m. Tuesday and found a family outside the home that had just been sprayed by bullets.
Darryl Hunte, 48, of Conway, died in the shooting after he was struck by a bullet that ripped through the front of the home.
Six people were there when the shooting occurred, including an 8-year-old boy. They’re all listed as victims in the police report, but none were injured, according to Krystal Dotson, spokeswoman with Horry County police.
As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the case, Dotson said.
On Monday, Conway police were called between 10 and 11 p.m. to the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue in reference to shots fired, according to a police report. A 68-year-old man told officers someone shot at his house.
The man told authorities he was in his home when he heard about three or four gunshots, and stated one went through his window, shattering it. Police said a bullet fragment was recovered and photos of the damage were taken.
No one was injured in that shooting, and Alston said that none of the recent incidents appear to be related to one another.
