Police: One dead, two injured in Longs shooting; suspect in custody


A suspect is in custody after a shooting in Longs left two people injured and hospitalized and one dead, according to Horry County Police Capt. John Harrelson.

Police have not released identities of the victims nor the suspect.

Horry County police responded to the shooting along Freemont Rd. in Longs on Saturday evening.

Horry County SWAT and special operations were on the scene where officers took the suspect into custody after several hours. Harrelson said police were not searching for any other suspects.

No law enforcement personnel were injured in the process, Harrelson said.
