One person died in a single-vehicle accident on S.C. 261 at about 7 a.m. today, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins of the Highway Patrol said the single occupant of a 1993 pickup died when the vehicle ran off the road and overturned. The victim was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident occurred about three miles north of U.S. 701, Collins said.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, said Paulette Radcliffe, deputy coroner for Georgetown County.
