Authorities have released the name of the golf cart driver killed in an early morning crash Saturday in the Galivants Ferry area.

Shana Richardson died in the collision with a truck, the Horry County Coroner’s Office announced in an email on Sunday. Richardson was 46 and lived in the Dog Bluff community near Aynor.

The crash happened at 1:12 a.m., Sept. 20, on Jordanville Road near Dog Bluff Road, according to an email from South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Nick Pye.

The golf cart was traveling west on Jordanville Road when a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck struck the golf cart, causing it to go off the road and hit a ditch, Pye said.

The passenger was transported to the hospital, Pye said.

The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were not injured.
