Myrtle Beach Police announced three officers are on paid administrative leave after an officer shot an armed teenager on North Ocean Boulevard, according to an email release.

Myrtle Beach Police spokesperson Randolph Angotti continues to withhold names of the officers on leave or when they may be back. This comes after a shooting hurt 11 people and killed a teenager.

The teenager shot his gun on the Boulevard late Saturday night causing an officer to shoot him, bystander Michael Howard told The Sun News. Jerrius Davis, 18, died as a result of the shooting. It’s unclear how the other 11 people were harmed or what led up to the shooting.

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division is investigating whether the officer’s use of force was justified. According to policy, Myrtle Beach Police should also be working on an internal investigation.
