CCU closes in anticipation of Hurricane Irma

Coastal Carolina University classes, events and activities are canceled beginning Thursday at 8 p.m., according to the CCU website.

All residence halls will be closed beginning Friday at 9 a.m. All students must make their own evacuation plans.

The campus will be closed beginning at 5 p.m. Friday.

For students who need to go to the airport, the CCU shuttle service will make runs on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The shuttle will also make runs to the Amtrak train station Friday at 9 a.m.

All campus dining facilities will close at 7 p.m. Thursday, except for Hicks Dining Hall and UP Cafe, which will close at 9 p.m.

Here’s a full list of when campus operations will close:

  • The post office will be open Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mailbox access will end Friday at 5 p.m.
  • The Chanticleer Store will open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Kimbel Library will open through Friday at 5 p.m.
  • HTC Center will close Thursday at 8 p.m. The center will reopen when the campus reopens.
