A volunteer at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet has won the latest round of the Reward Volunteers program, sponsored by Cabot Creamery Cooperative, a farm family-owned dairy cooperative.
Jeanne Hughes was one of hundreds of Americans who logged their nearly 6,000 volunteer hours spent helping children, animals, military, parks and other organizations. Hughes won an all-expense-paid 2015 eastern Caribbean cruise as part of the Cabot Community Celebrity Award Cruise for her and a guest.
The Reward Volunteers iPhone app and web widget from Cabot Creamery Cooperative enables individuals and organizations to track the time they spend volunteering in their communities, post to Facebook and earn rewards for themselves and the organizations they serve. At the end of each month, Cabot rewards volunteers for their work, and for inspiring friends and family to do the same, with a variety of prizes.
Participation is free. For more information, go to www.rewardvolunteers.coop.
