Deputies were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence and located the property manager who unlocked the door.
When sheriff’s deputies were clearing the residence, the woman reportedly charged the deputies with a knife, according to the release. Authorities said a sheriff’s deputy at that moment shot the woman.
Wilson was placed on administrative leave. Georgetown County Sheriff Lane Cribb said Wednesday he has been returned to normal duties.
