General election Tuesday
Election Day is Tuesday. Polls will be open in Horry and Georgetown counties from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Valid identification is required to vote.
The high school football playoffs begin Friday for the state’s lower three classifications (Classes A, AA and AAA) and six area teams will be in action.

In Class AAA, Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach will be at home and Georgetown will be on the road. In Class AA, Loris will be at home while Waccamaw and Aynor will hit the road. Neither of the area’s Class A teams made the postseason.
Class AAAA – which includes area teams Carolina Forest, Conway and Socastee – will be in its final week of the regular season.
Annual Oyster Roast
Annual Murrells Inlet 2020 Oyster Roast will be 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Jettyview Walk at Morse Park Landing.
The event is a creek-front tradition where all-you-can-eat oysters are served between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Other food and drinks also will be available. Bring an oyster knife or buy one at the roast.
Tickets cost $30 advance, $35 at the door, while supplies last. Proceeds benefit MI2020.
Horse riders coming to beach
More than 1,000 horses and riders from 22 states are expected on the Grand Strand beginning Wednesday for the annual American Heart Association Beach Ride.
The event will be Wednesday through Sunday. The 20-mile beach ride will take place 9 a.m. Saturday between Lakewood Camping Resort and Garden City Beach pier.

‘Magic Mike’ crews hit the beach
Crews from “Magic Mike: XXL” will be in Myrtle Beach to film scenes for the movie, slated to be released in July.
The film, written by and starring actor Channing Tatum, is a sequel to the 2012 movie “Magic Mike.”
Crews are expected to be seen on Ocean Boulevard in and around Plyler Park in Downtown Myrtle Beach on Tuesday and Wednesday.
