Lieutenant governor candidates to debate
Candidates for S.C. lieutenant governor, Republican Henry McMaster and Democrat Bakari Sellers, will debate on SCETV Monday.
The debate will air live at 7 p.m. and can also be seen online at www.scetv.org/electionblog.
Daylight Saving ends Sunday
Prepare to “gain” an hour of time Sunday morning when Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Remember to set clocks back one hour before bed on Saturday night.
HOA hearing Wednesday
Horry County legislative delegation will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday for a hearing on Homeowner Associations. The hearing will allow the delegation to get input on what law or laws its members may introduce in next year’s session to address broad concerns they are hearing from constituents.
Legislators and industry professionals believe that 80 percent of HOAs are well-run, but also that the problems with the rest are significant enough to need some action.
The hearing will be at the Burroughs & Chapin Auditorium on the Conway campus of Horry Georgetown Technical College.
Traffic shifting onto U.S. 17 overpass
Northbound traffic lanes were expected to shift on to the U.S. 17 overpass at S.C. 707 and Farrow Parkway Sunday night and continue through Tuesday morning, weather permitting.
Southbound lanes began driving on the overpass at the intersection, known as the back gate, by Wednesday.
The complete traffic shift for the northbound bridge will take about three days. Motorist can expect limited nighttime closures Monday night.
The Charlotte Hornets are back this week.
Charlotte NBA franchise, which spent several years called the Bobcats, has reverted back to the popular former nickname as it tips off the season.
Action begins Tuesday with three games, while the Hornets start their campaign by hosting the Milwaukee Bucks at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
