A Myrtle Beach man on Monday cashed in the winning $2 million Powerball lottery ticket that was sold in Myrtle Beach, according to the S.C. Education Lottery.
The man, who did not want to be identified, won the $2 million Powerball prize from Wednesday’s drawings. He bought the winning ticket at Kangaroo Express at 1009 Third Avenue South in Myrtle Beach. The store gets $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
He cashed in the ticket, then went back to work, according to lottery officials. He also planned to pay off his house and set up college savings funds for his kids.
The winning numbers were 5, 16, 31, 46 and 50. He paid an extra $1 for PowerPlay, which doubled the $1 million winnings.
