An autopsy is set for Friday in the death of a Mount Pleasant man whose body was found near Browns Ferry Landing in Georgetown County, according to the Georgetown County Coroner's office.
Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway identified the man as 58-year-old Leland Victor Leith, who he said has a boat docked in the Georgetown area. Ridgeway said the man’s body was found Thursday afternoon near the landing. The autopsy will be done at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Ridgeway estimated that Leith was dead about two days before he was found. No additional detail about the death was available Thursday.
