Vendors now can sign up to sell their items during South Carolina’s Largest Garage Sale in September, which is in its 26th year.
More than half of the 280 vendor spots have been claimed, with fewer than 70 spots left as of Monday.
“This is the strongest response to vendor sales that we’ve ever seen,” city spokesman Mark Kruea said. “At this rate they’ll be gone in another week.”
Kruea said while the vendor slots typically sell out each year, it usually doesn’t happen until August.

The garage sale will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, 2101 N. Oak St., on Sept. 6 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
Vendor spaces cost $50 and those interested can register online at www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/garagesale.html or in person from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the convention center.
“It’s the Noah’s ark of retail,” Kruea joked. “There’s two of everything ever made at the garage sale.”
Vendors selling retail items must have a S.C. Retail License and are responsible for paying sales tax on items sold at this event.
