North Myrtle Beach City Council on Monday gave initial approval to an ordinance regulating adult businesses in the city, said city spokesman Pat Dowling.
The ordinance follows suit with a similar law that was adopted by Horry County officials last year.
Addressed in the ordinance are licenses for adult entertainment establishments as well as parameters for the interior configuration, lighting requirements, hours of operation and the distance and height of the stage in relation to potential customers.
