The city of Myrtle Beach recognized employees of the year last week in several departments as well as the supervisor of the year.
Those honored include:
Cultural and Leisure Services Employee of the Year: Brenda Decker, recreation division, office assistant
Public Services Employee of the Year: Carolyn Wheaton, human resources, administrative assistant
Public Works Employee of the Year: Hank Bodine, equipment maintenance division, fleet services supervisor
Police Department Employee of the Year: Cathie Rhodes, support services division, support services manager
Fire Department Employee of the Year: Marc Hadden, firefighter
Supervisor of the Year: Shawn Pratt, fire department, battalion chief, training division

The city also presented employee recognition and longevity awards for people who have worked for the city for 10 years or more, in increments of five.
Bodine, from the public works department, was honored for working for Myrtle Beach for 40 years.
