A Longs woman died early Tuesday morning when her car ran off S.C. 905 and overturned, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Chaquesha Nitesha Davis, 27, of Freemont Road in Longs died at the scene of the crash from internal injuries, said Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. when Davis’ vehicle veered off the roadway, striking trees and overturning, said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with the highway patrol. Davis was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, Collins said.Family members said Davis had left the family’s business – Davis Seafood in Longs – about 45 minutes to an hour earlier, Edge said.
The initial call came from a passing motorist just before 5 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
