Bluegrass weekend

The 43rd annual S.C. State Bluegrass Festival strums Thursday to Saturday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, at Oak Street and 21st Avenue North, with a full schedule and most performers playing twice:

Thursday – A Deeper Shade of Blue at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Wayne Taylor and Appaloosa at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.; Jesse McReynolds and the VA Boys 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out 3:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.; and Longview at 4:10 p.m. and 9:10 p.m.

Friday – The Farmhand Quartet at 11 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.; Don Rigsby and Midnight Call at 11:45 a.m. and 5:50 p.m.; Goldwing Express at 12:30 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.; Al Batten and the Bluegrass Reunion at 1:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.; Paul Williams and the Victory Trio at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Doyle Larson and Quicksilver at 2:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.; and J.D. Crowe and The New South at 3:45 p.m. and 9:45. p.m.

Saturday – Big Country Bluegrass at 11 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.; Appalachian Express at 11:45 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Darin and Brooke Aldridge at 12:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.; The Little Roy and Lizzy Show at 1:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.; Bobby Osborne and the Rocky Top Express at 2 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.; and Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys 7:30 p.m., for one show only.

Daily prices are $35 for general admission and $40 for reserved seating for ages 16 and older, or $85 and $95, respectively, for a three-day pass; $20/$25 daily for ages 7-15, or $45/$50 for three-day pass. Parking is $3 a day.
