Myrtle Beach goes “giddy-up” for American Heart Association

More than 1,500 horses and riders from 22 states arrived at Myrtle Beach’s Lakewood Camping Resort for the 31st annual American Heart Association Beach Ride, according to a press release.

The event began Oct. 31 and concludes Sunday. The 20-mile trail ride was led by Tom Seay, host of “Best of America by Horseback.”

“The funds raised will support research projects and educational programs to benefit the American Heart Association,” said Sara Nelson, director of development at the AHA, in a statement.
