Two gardens in Georgetown County begin two-day celebrations through Sunday:

• Browns Ferry Gardens’ annual open house, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., on 13515 Browns Ferry Road (S.C. 51), northwest of Georgetown, and 13 1/2 miles west of U.S. 701, for free. Details at 240-2531 or



• “Butterfly and Art Festival: Colorful Wings and Pretty Things,” 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Brookgreen Gardens, on U.S. 17, between Murrells Inlet and Litchfield Beach, across from Huntington Beach State Park; free with admission, which lasts seven days: $14 for ages 13-64, $12 ages 65 and older, and $7 ages 4-12. Car shows this weekend

Choose from two car shows by area clubs:

Myrtle Beach Corvette Club, 17th annual show, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Broadway at the Beach, benefiting Family Outreach of Horry County and the Brunswick County Toy Run. Details at 347-2019.

Carolina Beach Music Festival

The 27th Annual Carolina Beach Music Festival continues in this N.C. town.
