One person was killed early this morning in a vehicle wreck on U.S. 17 Bypass just south of the Myrtle Beach city limits.
A tow truck hit a pedestrian near the intersection of U.S. 17 Bypass and Palmetto Pointe Boulevard shortly before 4 a.m., said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Glenn West, 47, of Myrtle Beach, died of internal injuries, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said.
The truck, which was driven by a 36-year-old Surfside Beach man, was traveling north on the bypass when the crash occurred, Collins said.

Although the crash remains under investigation, no charges are expected to be filed since the pedestrian was in the roadway at the time of the crash, Collins said.
