Myrtle Beach police arrested a suspect on Thursday charged in connection with the killing of a 36-year-old man in York, Penn.
Tyshon Antonio Doughty, 23, is being held at the city jail. York police have charged him with criminal homicide in the slaying of Donnell Eugene Woods, who was killed last Saturday at 5:45 a.m., according to the York (Penn.) Daily Record.
According to a York police report, Woods and a friend were attempting to buy drugs, but the dealer shot the men during the transaction, the newspaper reported. The friend drove Woods to the hospital, but he later died.
Doughty was arrested about 10 a.m. on Thursday, according to a Myrtle Beach police report. Officers were called to the Summer Wind Motel, located at 1903 South Ocean Boulevard, because a person, who was not a registered guest, had locked himself in room No. 307 and would not leave.
Hotel management had opened the door by the time officers arrived. Doughty was found passed out on the bed, the report states. Police charged him with trespassing and public intoxication.
Doughty was fingerprinted, alerting local police that he was wanted out of York, the report states.
