The list of AAA Four Diamond properties along the Grand Strand looks just like it did last year.
The same five lodging properties and one restaurant from this area made the cut to earn the exclusive rating, which signals a high level of service. AAA’s rigorous test includes a specially trained evaluator staying overnight or dining in the restaurant incognito.
The Four Diamond properties in Horry County this year, and the number of years each has had the rating:
• North Beach Plantation, four years
• Mar Vista Grande, five years
• Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, eight years
• Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes, 10 years
• The Cypress Inn in Conway, 17 years
• Divine Prime, six years
Only 29 hotels and 15 restaurants in South Carolina received a Four Diamond rating this year.
“Four Diamond hotels and restaurants provide guests with a personalized experience and attentive service in comfortable, high quality surroundings,” David E. Parsons, president and CEO of AAA Carolinas, said in a news release. “These establishments in South Carolina consistently exceed the expectations of the most selective and critical travelers -- the AAA inspector.”
The Charleston area again had the most Four Diamond properties in the state, 11 lodging properties and 10 restaurants.
