Plans have been filed with the city of Myrtle Beach for a four-building shopping complex called The Shoppes at Magnolia Row on the site of the former Pink House at Kings Highway and 44th Avenue North.
The Pink House was something of a Grand Strand institution from 1947 to 2000. The building served at various times as the site of an inn, a restaurant and a Christmas shop.
The plans show two one-story buildings and two two-story buildings grouped around a central courtyard with parking at the rear of the buildings. The buildings will have a combined total of more than 36,000 square feet.
The plans, drawn by architectural firm LS3P of Raleigh, N.C., do not name any of the tenants, but have spaces labeled “bistro,” “gelato,” “tap room,” jeweler” and “bridal.” Most spaces are unlabeled.
There was no timetable given for construction of the complex.
It was scheduled for discussion at a meeting of the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board last week, but that was delayed for a future meeting.
