The Raleigh, N.C., management company that bought the remaining development rights to Grande Dunes late last year has announced that it will build an 80,000-square-foot shopping center at Kings Highway and 82nd Parkway.
The center will be anchored by a 45,000-square-foot grocery store and will include 16,000-square-feet of space in the same complex as well as three outparcels. Officials aren’t naming the stores yet.
“It is our intent to implement a strategy to ensure that Grande Dunes will not only continue to be the preeminent location for residential development within Myrtle Beach but also the No. 1 destination for commercial growth as well,” Kyle Corkum, managing partner for LStar management, said in a news release.
The plans are scheduled to go before Myrtle Beach’s Community Appearance Board on Thursday.
LStar will partner with Crosland Southeast for the shopping center, which is expected to open in mid-2016.
LStar bought Grande Dunes in late 2013.
