A Charlotte, N.C., company is preparing to begin construction on ocean-view condos in Atlantic Beach, with hopes that more of the town's beach will continue to be redeveloped.
Choice One Properties, a real estate investment firm owned and operated by Tim and Sharon Anthony, a husband and wife team, plan to start construction this fall of six condo units at 31st Avenue. The project will have several phases, eventually bringing 24 units to Atlantic Beach's oceanfront, said Kevin Hoover, real estate agent with Keller Williams Myrtle Beach Central, which will be handling sales locally.
Hoover is taking reservations on the units, which will be called Emerald Landings Phase One.
Hoover said Choice One Properties has been working closely with the town's mayor and residents to build the kind of development they want.

"They've done a really good job of working with the local people and saying, 'What do you want to see?'" Hoover said.
The developer is looking for a builder and plans to start construction in the next few months.
