The Pavilion Nostalgia Park is on track to open at Broadway at the Beach in time for the July 4 holiday next week, said Pat Dowling, spokesman for Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc., which owns the Pavilion site and Broadway.
The mini amusement park, located in Heroes Harbor near Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, will have nine rides relocated from The Pavilion's longtime home on Ocean Boulevard, snacks and a 2,800-square-foot arcade.
Two of the park's most historical attractions, the 1912 Herschell-Spillman carousel and the hard-carved German Baden Band Organ, will have a new home at the Broadway park. Admission will be free.
The Pavilion shut down for good in the fall, creating an outcry from locals and visitors.
