SC restaurateurs opening new Indian restaurant in downtown Myrtle Beach. Here’s when

Vedha Indian Cafe

Two restaurateurs with dining spots across the Palmetto State are teaming up to bring a new Indian eatery to downtown Myrtle Beach.

Chennai Curry Hub is the latest restaurant developed by co-owners Jebakumar Jebaraj and Naren Arunprakash, who are bringing their statewide dining experience to Horry County this summer.

Jebaraj owns Silver Spoon Tavern in Columbia and Jonah Indian Kitchen & Bar in Florence and also serves as the restaurants’ chef, building on decades of experience working in restaurants at five-star hotels and previously owning other restaurants.

Arunprakash owns Vedha Indian Cafe in Lexington, as well as two sports bars, one in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Endzone Tavern in Myrtle Beach.

With Chennai Curry Hub, the pair hope to fill gaps in the Grand Strand’s dining scene by offering elevated Indian cuisine with an extensive menu.

“The main thing that puts us apart will be the food that we serve, and the food and the ambience that we will be providing to our customers,” Arunprakash said.

The Chennai Curry Hub menu

The restaurant’s menu is designed to feature an array of dishes to accommodate diners with varying preferences. Whether diners are looking for a mildly spicy seafood entree, a vegetarian meal that packs a lot of heat, or anything in between, the pair wants Chennai Curry Hub’s menu to have an option for them.

Jebaraj will serve as Chennai Curry Hub’s chef, bringing beloved dishes from his other restaurants to the coast. Jebaraj and Arunprakash’s other restaurants have garnered the most attention for their biryani and curry, both of which will be on Chennai Curry Hub’s menu.

For those hoping to sample several dishes to find their favorite, the restaurant will offer platter-style appetizers of different foods.

There will also be a full bar with a wide selection of liquors to enjoy alongside an Indian dish from the restaurant’s menu.

Indian restaurant’s location, hours & grand opening

Chennai Curry Hub is set to open in the former Ginger-Garlic space downtown at 1341 North Kings Highway.

Jebaraj and Arunprakash are eyeing a grand opening in late June or early July. Once they open, Chennai Curry Hub will serve fresh Indian cuisine from noon to 9:30 p.m. every day.
