Registration is now open for the 2016 Myrtle Beach Marathon.
This year’s marathon is later than last year’s race and has the Runner’s Expo has a new location.
The marathon has moved from the mid-February date to March 5. Also, the Expo is moving from the Convention Center to the new Myrtle Beach Sports Center.

It’s never too early to start training for the marathon. A great way to prepare is by running 5Ks and other races. Here’s a look at the races along the Grand Strand through October.
The Color Vibe 5K will be held at the Myrtle Beach Speedway on Saturday, July 18. If you register by July 15, the fee is $30. Day of registration is $75. Team runners will get a discounted rate.
Children’s Recovery Center 5K is Saturday, August 22 at Morse Park in Murrells Inlet. Registration is $25.
Run BFA Seatrail will be held on Saturday, August 22 in Sunset Beach NC. Registration is $45.
Market Common Triathlon is on Sunday, September 27. There are three levels in this triathlon, so you can find the fitness level that best suits you. Registration is $75. Pre-registrations will get a discounted rate.
Georgetown Bridge2Bridge Run will be held on Saturday, October 10. The event includes a half-marathon, 12K and 5K. Registration ranges from $20-$75 depending on the event and registration date.
Myrtle Beach Coastal 5K will be held on Saturday, October 17. The course will start and finish at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. Registrations before August 15 will get a discounted rate of $30.
Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon will be held the following day, Sunday, October 18. This half-marathon features an oceanfront course. Registration is limited to 4,000 participants. The course begins at Coastal Grande Mall and finishes at Plyler Park on Ocean Boulevard. Register by August 15 for the discounted rate of $90.
Chauncey’s Night 5K will be held on Friday, October 30. This nighttime run will take place on the Coastal Carolina campus. Registration is $25.
