You can learn where the club shaft and face should be at impact by doing slow-motion drills. Get a board like the one in the photo and make slow-motion downswings to impact. The leading edge of the club face should be flush against the board with the club shaft leaning slightly forward of the club face. You will notice the back of your left hand will be flat or even-arched and the back of your right hand will be cupped. You just learned what a perfect impact feels like. Do this respectively slowly; do not hit the board. As you get use to this motion you can start to hit golf balls and engrain this into your motion.
