Andy Owings School of Music & Performing Arts Center at the Coastal Grand mall is holding a Back-to-School Music Festival and Open House that begins on Saturday. This event includes free jam sessions and free music lessons (piano, keyboard, voice, guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, violin, viola, ukulele and music theory). • Williams-Sonoma at The Market Common is hosting a free Cooking Technique Class at 2 p.m. on Sunday. This week’s class is “DIY: Grinding Your Own Grains.”

The annual Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Grand Park. Admission is free. This event includes live music, food and craft vendors, sampling (for a fee, while supplies last), free boat rides, wakeboarding demos, a kids’ zone, a beer garden, and more. The festival runs from 6-9:30 p.m. on Friday, from noon-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday.
• The Town of Surfside Beach is holding its End of Summer Celebration on Sunday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Surfside Beach Pier. Admission is free. This event includes live music and food vendors. You might want to bring a chair.
• All Home Depot locations are holding a free kids’ workshop from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Kids ages 5-12 will get to build a goal post football game.
