State Law Enforcement Division officials have x-rayed a suspicious package found earlier today in the Prince Creek area in Murrells Inlet and determined that it contains three dead animals, according to Deputy Russell Goodale, spokesman for the Georgetown County Sheriff's office.
Police were called around 1:30 p.m. to investigate the package after someone noticed it in a vacant lot.
Police from Georgetown County Sheriff’s office and the State Law Enforcement Division, and Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire Rescue responded.
Goodale said when officials arrived they found a Fedex box with writing on it.
