Conway man dies in Georgetown, crashes vehicle

Preliminary autopsy results showed that a Conway man died from a heart attack and crashed his vehicle into a ditch in Georgetown County, according to authorities.

Gary D. MacBay, 59, suffered a heart attack about 7 a.m. Wednesday which caused his truck to run off the road and overturn on S.C. 261, Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson said.

The crash occurred about three miles from U.S. 701 and MacBay was the only occupant in the 1993 pickup truck, said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

MacBay was wearing a seatbelt.
