Yoshio Yamamoto of Myrtle Beach outlasted Will Mitchell and George Bryan in a playoff to win the NGA/Hooters Tour Carolina Summer Series event at The Members Club at Woodcreek and Wildewood on Thursday.
The win is the fourth on the Carolina Series for Yamamoto, a student of Scott Shobe of the Norman Champions Golf Academy at Long Bay Club.
"I really didn't think my score was going to hold up the way Nick Geyer and Adam Hart were playing," said Yamamoto, who started the final round four shots behind Geyer and two back of Hart.
Yamamoto, who played at Austin Peay, posted a final-round 69 to finish at 7-under 209 on Thursday, while Geyer and Hart struggled.
