Conway man charged after police find woman unconscious outside home

A Conway man spent seven hours in jail on charges in connection with the assault of a 53-year-old woman, according to authorities.

Archie Lamar Goud, 47, was charged with first-offense criminal domestic violence, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after Conway police officers were called to a home in the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue, police said.

An officer saw a man standing over a woman, who was unconscious on the ground, when he arrived at the home, according to a police report. The man told the officer the woman broke into his house, got on top of him so he put her to the ground.

The officer handcuffed the man, who was Goud, and called for EMS for the woman, according to the report. When officers when to put Goud in a police car, he began cursing at them and kicked one officer twice.
