A Myrtle Beach woman was charged with cruelty to children and disorderly conduct Saturday after police found her sleeping in parked vehicle while a 1-year-old child walked around the parking lot, according to a police report.
Tabetha Jean Saunders, 29, was arrested after police were called at 2 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of Burcale Road, police said.
Another woman found the child running around the parking lot and Saunders was sleeping in the backseat of the vehicle, according to the report. Saunders told police she had not seen the mother of the child, who is her niece, in a while.
Police took the child into emergency protective custody. Saunders was released from jail at 7 p.m. that night on $1,250 bail.
