Police seek help locating missing Myrtle Beach area woman

Horry County Police detectives are asking for assistance in locating a Myrtle Beach area woman who has not been seen or heard from since Monday.

Katharine Joy Cooper, 52, was last known to be at her house on Folly Road in the Socastee section of Horry County at 9 p.m. Monday, said Sgt. Robert Kegler, police spokesman.

Detectives reported that it appears the woman left her home ''without taking any personal belongings or any means of communication,'' Kegler said. Family members and co-workers have not been able to contact her.

Cooper is 5-foot, 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. She has reddish brown hair and blue eyes.

Cooper is believed to be driving a gray 2006 Toyota Camry with a South Carolina tag of DLU 612.

Anyone with information on Cooper's whereabouts or the location of her vehicle are asked to call police at 915-5350 or 248-1520.
