A 21-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police that he was robbed and assaulted by a group of men after he told one man he did not have any drugs for sale, according to a police report.
The man said at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday he was in the 1300 block of Dunbar Street when a man asked him if he had any drugs, police said. The man said he told the man he didn't sell drugs and the suspect grabbed his bag and tried to run away, but the man grabbed the bag and struggled with the man.
During the struggle about four or five other men surrounded them and one of the other men put something to the man's neck and threatened to cut him, according to the report. The other men hit the man in the head and face several times before he was able to get away.
The man used another person's phone down the street to call police, according to the report. The man changed his story several times when he told it to police and the man refused to be taken to an area hospital for treatment.
