Police searching for man who robbed North Myrtle Beach bank

Police in are investigating a bank robbery that occurred around noon today at the Carolina First Bank at 1801 U.S. 17 South in North Myrtle Beach.

North Myrtle Beach police still are looking for the bank robber.

Police said a man about wearing a faded blue shirt, navy blue ball cap and sun glasses robbed the bank around using handgun. The man entered the bank, told a teller to hand over an undisclosed amount of cash and brandished the gun, according to a statement released by North Myrtle Beach spokesman Pat Dowling.

The man drove away from the bank in an older model, silver Toyota Camry, Dowling said. He also said the man is believed to have been involved in two other bank robberies this month elsewhere in Horry County.
