A fire Thursday damaged an old school house on Pee Dee Road South, but injured no one.
The blaze was reported about 4:30 p.m. at 14396 Pee Dee Road South, according to Leslie Yancey, spokeswoman for Horry County Fire Rescue. She said the building was heavily damaged.
The fire occurred in the old Red Hill School building, which Yancey said had been converted into a four-unit apartment building. One unit in the building was occupied at the time of the blaze, Yancey said.
She said the tenant, who was asleep when fire broke out, escaped with the help of neighbors who alerted him.
