A Conway man died early Wednesday in a single vehicle crash in Horry County, according to authorities.
The crash was reported at 2:20 a.m. today on U.S. 378 near Hampton Road, said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with the highway patrol. The crash involved a 1997 Mercury four-door car, and the driver was killed.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said the driver was Thomas Jones, 26, of Conway. Jones was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he died at 4:30 a.m. today from multiple trauma.
Jones, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving east on U.S. 378 and went off the right side of the road, Collins said. He then crossed over to the left side of the road and the vehicle struck some trees and overturned.
