A Conway couple were indicted on charges they operated a chop shop with stolen golf carts, according to court records.
Christopher Anthony Rossi Jr., 30, and Kelly Colleen Rossi, 29, were each indicted on two counts of receiving stolen goods with a value between $2,000 to $10,000 in connection with incidents in November and July, according to grand jury indictments. Christopher Rossi also was indicted on a charge of operating a chop shop.
Horry County police arrested the couple on Nov. 9 on the charges. Police said a man called them on Oct. 17, after finding what he thought was his stolen golf cart on the side of S.C. 544 with a 'For Sale' sign on it, said Sgt. Robert Kegler.
Detectives had been investigating reports of several golf cart thefts in the southern part of Horry County and focused their investigation on the couple. Horry police also recovered two other golf carts and a motorcycle that was being taken apart and had been reported stolen.
