The sentence of a Ware Shoals man was sealed after a jury convicted him of trafficking and distributing GHB in North Myrtle Beach, according to the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Joshua Southerland, 23, was convicted of three counts of distributing GHB, three counts of trafficking GHB and distribution and trafficking in a close proximity to a school, according to records. Southerland failed to appear for the trial, but was tried in absentia.
Circuit Court Judge Steven John sealed Southerland’s sentence until he is arrested. Charges for failing to appear also are pending against him.
Craig Southerland, 50, of Newberry, pleaded guilty before his trial began to trafficking GHB, according to records. John sentenced him to five years in prison.
