State Forestry officers issued 107 tickets for outdoor burning violations during the Presidents’ Day weekend in the state for 303 wildfires, according to Scott Hawkins, forestry commission spokesman.
The violations were written throughout the state during the three day weekend, Hawkins said. Forestry officials spent $25,111.40 for fuel during the incident.
During the 303 wildfires, 20 structures were destroyed, 43 structures were damaged totaling a loss of $473,100, Hawkins said.
