Three charged in connection with catalytic converter thefts in Horry County

Three Horry County residents have been charged in connection with the theft of catalytic converters at several car lots in the area, police said.

Dustin Grady, 30, of Conway is charged with three counts of grand larceny over $2,000 but less than $10,000, two counts of petit larceny and two counts of malicious damage; Kevin Lewis Norris, 30, of Loris is charged with three counts of grand larceny over $2,000 but less than $10,000, one count of petit larceny and one count of malicious damage; and Crystal Darlene Johnson, 32, of Conway, is charged with three counts of grand larceny over $2,000 but less than $10,000, and one count of petit larceny, said Sgt. Robert Kegler, Horry County police spokesman.

Several car lots in Loris, Conway and Little River reported that catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles on their lots between Feb. 7-17, Kegler said.

Investigators have recovered 54 catalytic converters worth $18,900.

All three suspects are being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
