At least two vehicle crashes on U.S. 501 near Myrtle Beach are slowing travel along the road toward Conway, according to authorities.
Emergency crews were called about 9:15 a.m. today to U.S. 501 at S.C. 31 for a crash in the westbound lanes. The crash slowed traffic because the lanes were blocked as Horry County emergency officials responded to the crash.
At 10:40 a.m. today, crews were called to another vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler just east of the first crash at Dick Scobee Road, authorities said. That crash also occurred in the westbound lanes of U.S. 501, which are closed while crews respond to the crash.
Details about the extent of injuries involved in the crashes were not immediately available. More details will be posted as they become available.
